How to Eliminate Mafia from our Society
JOHN: You take interview of others, today I want to take your interview.
JOURNALIST: I?m ready. I would love to be interviwed.
JOHN: I want to talk about mafia.
JOURNALIST: It is an intersting topic
JOHN: Our country have worked very hard on eliminating mafia. But it is still there,
though not as strong as it was before. What is your opinion?
JOURNALIST: Grip of mafia on our society is as strong as it was before. Instead of using guns mafia is entering in other fields. They are making more money with their brains now.
JOHN: In which field are they entering?
JOURNALIST: Previously, they believed more in gun-power and mostly they made money in bootlegging, prostitution, gambling, betting, robbery, and contract-killing. Now they have entered in construction and politics in a big way. They have also transformed piracy into a big industry. Now they can influence law-making and enforcement machinery more easily.
.
JOHN: It means they have become a bigger threat now.
JOURNALIST: Yes. Priviously it was easy to identify them and take action. But now it has become very difficult to start an anti- mafia drive.
JOHN: As a journalist what suggestion would you give?
JOURNALIST: In our block there is a famous builder. He has also become an M.P now. He seems a piller of honesty. He is a very polite man. But his real picture is quite black. He knows how to make money by using the system and the law. In fact, he is a tough mafia boss converted into a politician and businessman. You can not catch him. He makes or changes the law now. The only solution is to make anti-corruption law stronger.
JOHN: The task of eliminating mafia is almost impossible now.
JOURNALIST: Very difficult, if not impossible. If good politicians can join hands with good intellectuals and do something, the system will change. I mean hope is always there.
