Present Perfect Continuous: how to construct
Positive form
Negative form
Question form
You have been sharing posts on Facebook since January 2013.

You have been doing your best to get more Likes for half a year.

You have not been sharing posts on Facebook since January 2013.

You have not been doing your best to get more Likes for half a year.
Have you been sharing posts on Facebook since January 2013?

Have you been doing your best to get more Likes for half a year?

Use Present Perfect Continuous with such key words like since and for.

The formula to build Present Perfect Continuous sentence is this:

Have/has + been + verb + ing

In order to make a negative form, just add not after have or has.

If you want to make a question form, put have or has before your subject.

In these two sentences our subject is you.

In other words, put have or has at the beginning of your sentence.

Which one to use?

Present Perfect Continuous or Present Perfect?

You have been sharing pictures on Facebook since 2010.

You have understood how Facebook is working these days.

Use Present Perfect Continuous with actions verbs such as cook, play, read, write, run, swim etc.

All the verbs which express action in its meaning are called action verbs.

Use Present Perfect Simple with non-action verbs such as know, love, believe, understand, like, trust, happy, want, agree, belong, seem, suppose, agree, appear, cost, dislike, forget, hate, mean, need, own, realize, remember etc.

All of these verbs above are non-action verbs because they don?t express any action.

They express feelings, emotions and states.

Present Perfect Continuous: recently/lately

Have you been wondering why you are getting less Likes on Facebook recently?

Have you been doing all your best to attract your friends on Facebook lately?
Also

Use Present Perfect Continuous for things you have been doing recently/lately.

Confusion: Like or Liking?

Question!

If the verb like is a non-action verb then why did we say ??very few of your friends have been Liking ?? in post above?

The verb Like which we used in our post above is the name of the Facebook button. So when we said ??very few of your friends have been Liking?? we meant that very few of your friends have been pressing the Like button.

That?s why it is used in Present Perfect Continuous.
